VACANCY: FIELD RESEARCHER AND POLICY ANALYST (FULL-TIME ROLE, 12 MONTHS)
Location: Abuja, Nigeria (Relocation Required)
Theo-Sight is seeking a highly skilled and grounded theory-oriented Researcher to join our team for a 12 month full-time engagement. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about policy-driven research, particularly within the context of insecurity, violence, and peace in Nigeria. The person must have skill set desired for rigorous empirical research, geared toward policy recommendation regarding peace and security in Nigeria.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will conduct rigorous, empirical research initiatives, policy analysis that inform advocacy, policy engagement, and strategic interventions. This role requires both intellectual depth and the capacity for demanding, on-the-ground work.
Eligibility Criteria
A PhD holder (within the last 2 years) OR a highly competent Master’s degree holder
Academic background relevant to our work (Public Policy, Security Studies, Crime Sociology, Criminology, Law, Peace & Conflict Studies, or related fields)
Demonstrated experience in empirical research, data analysis, data management, report writing, policy analysis on insecurity, violence, or governance issues
Willingness to relocate to Abuja and undertake fieldwork across the nation
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Requirements
Proficiency in Hausa language is a strong advantage
Due to the demanding and rigorous nature of the role, a male candidate is preferred; however, highly capable female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply
